Hindsight is 20 20, and it can and will ruin everything you once held dear with the couples you once considered top tier becoming trash, but it's really saying something when you're young stupid and still wondering how the did this happen.
The kindest little lady on earth, married a jackass, who gets his kicks scaring a dog with anxiety disorder.
This has always been that one couple I will never stop questioning.
And since it's October I might as well, try and figure it out as it's.
Not often you get to see a saint marry an animal abuser.
But if I've learned anything for my years on YouTube, the answer is always trauma.
He was found by Muriel who lives in the middle of nowhere with her husband used his bag Courage.
The Cowardly Dog was one of the all-time Staples of my childhood it's in my personal Hall of Fame for media that actually managed to traumatize me like this actually me up what there wasn't enough, sweets and soda in the world to make me watch his early CGI monstrosity in spite of the emotional damage.
This was still one of my all-time favorites as a kid and looking back I can see why the story of a dog trying to protect his owners from Nightmare fuel, it's, a show that basically writes itself threaten the needle between great comedy and actual horror.
This was never a mystery show, but it was definitely suspenseful, which I had that extra little Shava drone.
So many kid shows were missing back in the day.
But if we had to pick any mystery, though the one that always vexed to my seven-year-old brain, it was the marriage between Eustis and Muriel.
Now Eustis is an routinely endangering his family for personal gain.
This idiot will suffer any curse of magical if he could make a buck off of it he's at irritable threshold of stupid and mean, you just can't stand in people not to mention.
He abuses his dog, Anchorage is already paranoid and has abandonment issues.
He does not need this.
But this jackass makes it a hobby to scare this poor puppy at every opportunity seriously, screw this guy.
The only good thing uses has ever done for society was stay at home.
No one needs this kind of negativity in their life.
And by some miracle heeda marrying a woman, he doesn't deserve and into something dear.
And you must be hungry.
Muriel doesn't have a single bad bone in her body and would give you the shirt off her back her lunch and a cup of tea to anyone who asked for help.
She adopted courage when he was a band as a pup and she's his one Guiding Light.
And the only reason he doesn't leave Eustis to die like of all the times courage goes to say, May, Ariel him, saving uses is always just a bit of a coincidence.
If you can follow this woman with anything it's for not in finishing the job.
Her Mallet started disciplining.
Her husband when he's being a jackass Eustis, honestly, couldn't have done any better.
Muriel couldn't have picked worse, which begs the question, why? Why did this of all relationship starts? And why is it still together? Because they do love each other.
And this is always just tantalize me.
Yusuf is every bad thing Muriel doesn't approve of.
And you think that they'd be in more trouble than just a whack on the head can solve, then the answer hit me.
And this is completely my own Tech.
I am not making any claims to know, the intent of anyone, but it makes a certain amount of sense that the main answer here is pity.
Now I could cry and be like the worst of YouTubers and take historical, slash cultural background, knowledge and apply to a show that only aesthetically is connected to the series, but I won't be doing that and said, the answer to the question.
So many of us asked as kids can be found in the show itself as it actually does a pretty good job at delivering context for its characters with uses benefiting from this, the most which isn't saying much since you can only go up from dog, strangling Muses would take bronze of the tragic childhood Olympics, his whole life he's been treated like by his mom, his father and his brother who even in the ground wasn't going to give him a dime.
Yusuf's whole life has been an uphill battle to just exist, and he could never win.
His mom is a dick who treats him the same way.
He treats courage, which is very much informative.
And just why he's like this a lot of his worst Tendencies are from his family and being mistreated by them.
He was constantly belittled as a child.
He was constantly treated like he was worthless.
And if anyone get the kicks from scaring the little kid in flashcard to now we're uses his carry on that same behavior, but just doing it with his pet and I don't think they've ever had kids don't know, if that was confirmed I, just always assumed, no, but his mom has the audacity to treat courage better than him and it's all just a special kind of you.
He was never good enough.
He wasn't man enough to go hunting nor strong enough to fill his father's shoes.
And he would need a saddle if his mom was riding him.
Any harder this broken Homelite provides a lot of context for why uses is the way that he is spiteful and angry, because he never measured up even after everyone else was dead.
He lives his life nursing a grudge that the world owes him something for all the suffering.
It put him through building a victim, complex so huge.
He can't even understand why his wife has to knock some sense into him uncle.
What did I do which I guess I have to address this one very quickly, I'm fine with her hitting him over the head.
Yes, domestic abuse is domestic abuse.
Man, or woman does not matter, but there's a certain point in physical comedy, where I think this is approved, especially once a crotchy old couple uses calls courage, stupid dog cause his mom called him, stupid.
Boy, all this man ever wanted was to be loved and respected.
But even after he got it with his wife, those bad habits were so far ingrained in him that he couldn't be anything else like the man, can't, even fake kindness or empathy.
And when you see this like his wife is laid out she's too sick to do anything.
And his first concern is, how is she gonna make me? Breakfast, I, couldn't eat a bite I meant for me or how he'd slam the door in the face of an old Romani dog, looking for a little help Eustis is a bitter ass old man who really can't accept that he never made anything of himself and to cope.
He tears everyone else down.
So with all that said, you think that Muriel would never come within a hundred feet of the man, let alone marry him and here's.
The thing Muriel is nice to everybody.
She doesn't judge and has always been kind and rather than seeing the cruel vindictive man that he is Muriel might have chosen to focus on the wounded child beneath all that as uses is a train wreck, but he's also the victim of a really shitty life.
The Muriel would definitely have been sympathetic to.
And the show establishes that Muriel, despite being the all-loving hero, doesn't have a bad word to say about anybody doesn't with yusuf's Mother, refusing to join him to visit her on Mother's Day being less than enthusiastic when she drops by the house and coleslaw, just shrugging off her mother-in-law possibly dying from whale weird, I'm glad that all worked out.
But the whale got me, ma, I'm glad that all worked out this apathy for Grandma bag is pretty surprising in the first go-to's thing.
Okay, they're doing the wife, isn't, a fan of Mommy Dearest trout.
So you don't really question, it it's, a cliche that everyone's done so you're like, oh, yeah, I don't see the reason.
But if you take it in context of Muriel, knowing useless's background, knowing what a mean old woman, she is as Muriel has been here forever.
She is a man married to Eustis for years.
She knew his brother she knows a lot of his family history.
So it makes sense that she wouldn't know, the worst of what he's been through.
And this makes it make sense that she would keep Grandma at arm's lengths or just not give a when she seemingly dies, Eustace, isn't, a good person.
No one is arguing otherwise looking him through the lens of someone trapped in the cycle of abuse.
You understand why he turned out the way that he is, which is why the level of empathy that Muriel has can make her Overlook.
Some of his faults.
There is a horrible ugly monster, driving that truck like she is a bit of oblivious as far as characters Go stuff will have happen.
And she won't question, it get attacked by giant spiders.
She is treated like a cockroach and leaves doesn't like, oh, yeah.
I just fought for my life there.
But while she doesn't question, the craziness of nowhere, she does know who Eustace is she knows the man that she married.
And when the two are struggling through their marriage through a ghost who is out for Revenge because cartoons, I see a beautiful butterfly to make her husband.
Happy, I, see a woman hitting a guy on the head with a frying pan.
They do immediately reconcile.
They realize how much they love each other.
And the uses is willing to stand up to his mom for his wife.
I don't think this is ever a case of mural trying to fix Eustis, but she empathize with him and that's.
What caused her to love him, it's, not ideal, and she does have to take a lot of his flaws in stride.
But she just accepts it with her coping mechanism being aggressively baking.
When starts to hit the fan, she never forgets.
The sad little boy that uses real.
He is something that was confirmed in an episode by the way he's a little sad boy, suffering under a hot sun with no one to look out for him.
And while I don't feel like this would be the relationship.
I'd want Muriel to be in it's, not healthy she's, not gonna turn a blind eye to someone in need even when they're terrible or maybe use.
This really was just better back then less of a jackass stupid dog.
You made me look bad.
Overall though, this is a fantastic show love these two like honestly, I, love Eustis.
He is such a good character to see the could be an album and Muriel's just a saint honestly, I, just love all the characters and Courage, the Cowardly Dog they're, all just so great from The Sassy computer to the um, oh, yeah, I forgot.
How racist some of these characters were all right? This has been sarcastic chorus.
Thank you for watching love.
You all goodbye.
Peace out.
