Welcome everyone to mtg deckmasters.

And today, I'm going to show you how to make high quality, mtg proxies for free at home.

And they look exactly like regular magic cards.

And the best part about it is that you can keep those proxies to make multiple decks for zero dollars only to everything it will cost.

You is paper and ink and a printer.

If you don't have one, but it's going to be a great investment because you're going to be able to play so many decks and um by proxying up, a bunch of decks you're going to be able to know which decks suit you so you're going to save money.

Instead of purchasing multiple decks to try them out you're going to know exactly what you want to buy.

And then you can buy this deck to play in a tournament, or you can just play casually for free.

So this is my deck library on mtg goldfish.

I highly suggest you have an account on mpgoldfish to track all your decks, not sponsored at all.

But you go on tools.

My decks here are all my decks.

So there's, one sheet of decks.

You can create your own decks or just copy popular decks.

As you see, I have 25 sheets of decks, there's, probably 20 decks per sheet.

I would say per page, um.

And now we're gonna take living hand for an example.

So this is a 2021 version of living end after modern horizons 2.

And as you see on mtg, goldfish, you're, always bombarded with ads.

But of course, they got to make their money.

I respect that.

So you see this is the list with all the price prices for the cards.

Now we can go on edit.

So you can modify the deck.

So you see the list of the cards for the main deck and the sideboard there we go.

So now once you have your list you're going to go on a website called mtg print.

So mtgprint.com.

And now what you have to do is you can either just copy paste the entire list and like this like copy and paste your entire deck.

So you see the list submit and what's amazing about this website is that you can choose all the the sets for all your cards.

So architects of will can choose alarmborne or archenemy, uh, creator of mysteries.

Foregone realms, amonkhet, remastered, commander 2020., there's, even the the online sets like the almond cat remastered.

And the the even the promos like the almond cap buy box.

I don't think, uh, maybe that's a buy box promo.

I think yeah, buy box promo, uh.

So now you see all the cards and what you can do you can go print and you will have the pdf downloaded.

But there is one issue with this.

The issue is that when you print those cards, the nine cards will fit onto the page, however, they will not be big enough to cover up your entire sleeve.

They will be smaller than regular cards.

So if you're just trying out a deck for a couple of games, that's fine.

But for me, personally, I like my cars to be my proxies to be as big as actual magic cards.

So what I'm going to do is instead of doing, uh, the 90 scale, I'm going to do 100 scale, but it's going to be more complicated.

So let's click off that pdf.

So it was on scale.

100 percent okay.

So normally when you want to print nine cards per page, you go 90, and it will reduce the the size of the individual cards.

Because if you go 100 scale and try to print all the deck at once, um, the cards at the bottom are going to go kind of want to go on the other page, because it will take too much space on a single sheet of paper.

So if you want to have your cards, 100 scale, what you need to do is delete this okay and go for architects of will to curator of mysteries.

So we can only go six cards per page, however, there's no button or function in here on this website that can allow you to do only six cards per page.

So you'll have to enter them manually, but it's, not that big of a deal.

So let's, submit, architects of will, I want them lara reborn and the creator of mysteries almond kit.

So now we'll go on print.

You see deck, pdf, eight.

So we have this right here.

And this is going to be the full size of actual magic cards.

So we're just going to go ahead and print.

Those cards, let's do color.

I know, it's in french.

I speak french too.

So, uh, it's in color, um.

Now we don't print on both sides.

And there we go we'll just print.

It maybe you'll hear my printer in the background.

So, um, okay, four architects of will two curator of mysteries.

So now what we're going to do is continue with two creative mysteries for grief.

So two curative mysteries and for grief, oh, my printer is starting so for grief.

So submit, and I think you get the idea at this point.

So the goal is basically to do six cards at a time.

So sprint have the pdf.

And there we go.

So we will print again, color, again, print so it's going to take a while probably 15 minutes to do the entire deck I'm, not going to make you sit through all the entire process, but base that's, basically what we're going to do we're going to print the entire deck.

And once the entire deck is printed, you will have these sheets like this and uh, you just take scissors, or you can take, um.

Some people have these uh for like professional, uh, print, printing, uh facilities, like they have these big cutters that can cut a bunch of sheets at the same time that would be pretty useful too.

But you can't really cut a bunch of sheets at the same time with scissors because you're not going to be very precise if you're ocd like me.

So I take them one at a time, and I just cut them with scissors.

And there are little white spots.

Sometimes so just cut them out it's going to take a few seconds.

And once you have all of that what you're going to do is you take a sleeve, you put a random magic cards like basic lens and fill up the entire deck.

So let's say, you have 75 cards you take your 75 sleeves, put random basic lens and put them backwards.

And then you insert the little piece of paper for the proxies, um, right in the sleeve.

So you have the same feeling as magic cards, but you still have the the printed cards on top.

And since these cards are 100 percent scale from regular magic cards, they're gonna look just like real magic cards, maybe with the exceptions of the ones with the hollow sticker, because it doesn't have that same feel and that's also why I don't recommend anyone going on mtg print and choosing something like a promo, that's foil or stamped, because the coloring is going to look off with the foiling.

So those are basically my two cents and that's, a quick introduction on the mtg print website.

Please, let me know in the comments if you're willing to check out a video, or if you want me to do a video on, how does a proxy deck? Look like? Because this is a very useful method.

I use pretty much every single time.

I want to build a deck and I'm willing to try out a living end.

This is one of the decks that I've been wanting to play for a while.

And now with force of negation in the deck because we're playing blue now with cars like, um, what's, the name subtlety solo t, right here.

And for some negation that gives the deck, some more interaction that it didn't have before, um, I really want to try this deck out and um see if it's good enough.

And if I should build it so that's, a great way to save a lot of money, instead of spending your money on a bunch of cars, trying out decks and then selling them back or sending them to buy a list after playing the game playing the deck.

You can just proxy them up play against your friends or family, your brothers and sisters, try that out or even just goldfish.

And you will see if that's a decks suited for you so that's, a strategy I've used for.

I mean, dozens of decks as you see I'm, a big fan of brewing decks, we're, just copying lists and tweaking them.

So I have a lot of lists right here and uh, goes back to 2016 ever since 2016.

I've been creating a bunch of decks like madcap, just sky bring to light scape shift suicide, blue, bushwacker zoo blue, black hardcore control.

Those were the good old days.

Um, just for brewers.

This is amazing mtg print.

It used to be mtg press.

But I believe those websites are not really that wizards of the coast friendly so every now, and then they get shut down, but there's always another one that pops up.

And if you want to be really legal and have crappy proxies, but you don't really want to spend a lot of time you can just go on mtg, goldfish and click, print proxies, select your deck letter size or a4, whatever size of paper you're using.

And you can just click here.

Add margin between cards, don't, print cards and collection and go submit, just wait.

And you will see.

Those are your proxies.

There are basically magic cards without the art, or any colors just written on pieces of the of paper.

So it's a good way to try a deck out.

However, I don't really like playing cards all in black and white because it doesn't have that same feel you need to read the card.

Whereas when you have the card in uh, regular colors, it's, much easier to distinguish, especially if you have a large graveyard or a bunch of lands on the battlefield, or you get into a big big board, board stall and you don't, you have to read every single card or the cards are hard to distinguish so that's just that's just my thoughts on that.

So I do recommend mtg print, not mtg goldfish, um, please.

Let me know if you want to see a follow-up video on what a proxy deck looks like and we'll.

See you next time on mtg deckmasters.
